ATV Rescue Trailer

    In 2003 we were asked to meet the rising need of off road rescues to be pulled behind ATV's. We came up with a unit that could be used on snowmobile or ATV trails in snow or dirt as well as be pulled down the road to get to the rescue site. Since this first unit has been released we have updated the trailer on three occasions and will continue as the off road rescue industry grows. Our first unit has been involved in four rescues and one recovery to date and we currently have seven units equipped in the northeast.

    These rescue units are eight feet long and three feet wide and with its smooth operation without excessive noise or ride discomfort for the patient this trailer makes the ideal off road rescue unit. These units feature, a fender mounted seat, allowing paramedic complete access of patient, rear loading capability providing minimal lifting, a front debris guard with cargo light, strobe light, Iv hooks and oxygen holders. A rear dog sled platform is wide enough for two rescuers, and Adjustable E Track has been included for securing the patient and hooks for a stokes basket and a backboard are used on the ditch side. Two Dexter two-thousand pound Axles with Hi Speed EZ Lube hubs are used along with Highway springs with replaceable bushings on 20.5x8.0-10 ATV tires allowing off road use.

    Available options on the Nichols Rescue Trailer include a slip on winter ski conversion kit.
